The information material archived on our premises can be consulted on appointment. Requests for material for study, publication or other purposes must follow a procedure set up by the Venice Water Authority as the granting body:
- applicants will be given a request form which they are required to fill in with the details of the material required;
- within 20 days (except in the case of urgent requests), the Water Authority will provide a written answer to both the applicant and the Information Service as the competent body;
- the authorisation is received by the secretariat of this department and forwarded to the person responsible, who in turn produces the material requested;
- when the material is consigned, the user signs a letter specifying the conditions of use of the material.
Material consigned by the Information Service cannot be used without authorisation from the Venice Water Authority.
The following types of material can be requested:
- design documents: with reference to final designs only;
- satellite images: requests must refer exclusively to the area of interest and only data processed by the Information Service can be consigned. The original images must be requested directly by the applicant to the supplier.
- aircraft flights: requests must concern the area of interest only. Images will be those of the previous year. Requests for aerial photographs from the current year must be made directly by the applicant to the company responsible for the flights, with the same limitation.

- data on studies and monitoring, only if completed and validated by this Institute.
In the case of publication of the data or materials received in degree dissertations, theses, research doctorates, articles and conference acts, the source must be quoted correctly: Ministry of Infrastructure - Venice Water Authority, concessionary Consorzio Venezia Nuova.
