What is the Children's Lagoon
?

Salt marshes, mudflats, "ghebi", groynes, reclaimed areas: how many times have we asked ourselves to what extent children feel at home with the extraordinary secret code of lagoon terminology?
How can they gain familiarity with the multitude of environmental and morphological aspects, with the interventions that man, over time, has carried out in order to maintain and safeguard the ecosystem of the lagoon of Venice?

With these questions in mind, the idea was borne to set up an educational laboratory that, through games and informative interactive journeys, would give boys and girls the opportunity to enrich their knowledge of the lagoon of Venice, of its transformations over the centuries, of what has been done and of what is being done for its defence. The educational laboratory starts every year on september.

An enthusiastic lagoon game offers students a fun and useful experience with the extraordinary environment in which they live.

Where it takes place

The activities take place in Puntolaguna, an area equipped with multimedia stations, a video library with films about the lagoon, and a library of books which can be used later by the children in the case that they wish to conduct further research.

The initiative is realised in collaboration with the association of educational and cultural services Artemisia, run by Alessandra Bassotto and Franca Lugato.
